Remsen (of Brookville, NY and son of Abraham and Deborah [Downing] Remsen) on 12 December 1860 (by Rev. J.C. Lowe of Brookville Church). They had one son, Frederick^8 Remsen.

James' second marriage was to Celia Otis and a child, Henry L. Remsen, by that marriage.
